Insurance Business Analyst
Title: Business Analyst
Duration: 12 months
Location: Portsmouth, NH
Softworld, Inc. client is for a Business Analyst who under limited supervision (working individually or as part of a project team), performs complex research and analysis to support day to day application usage by the business. Ability to work independently and lead others during projects; in-depth knowledge of the business practices and processes; in-depth knowledge of systems development lifecycle as it pertains to requirements gathering and documentation of requirements and then creating functional specifications from these requirements; in-depth knowledge of all phases of testing including the development of Test Strategy, test scenarios and test cases. To effectively manage projects which re-engineer business operations to improve business results.
Consults with the business; develops recommendations to address problems / issues. Working both with the business and with I/T.
Demonstrated Advanced analytical/problem solving and research skills; effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and making presentations; proficiency with personal computers, spreadsheets and database software (Excel, Hyperion, Access, Visual Basics, SAS, etc). Effective negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
Bachelor degree or MBA (preferred) in business or technical discipline and at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the Insurance Industry including Specialty Casualty and Casualty lines of business.
Knowledge of Guidewire, Xchanging's Vendor Product, Genius would be a plus, but not mandatory if the right candidate.
Required Skills:
Generally a minimum of 5
years of recent Business Analysis related experience
Extensive knowledge of financial services business operations, objectives and strategies as well as business process and information flow
Thorough understanding of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience; technical degree preferred
Desired Skills:
In depth knowledge of the Specialty Casualty and Property Insurance is preferred
